In the Making 2.08
Style 8 Slope Shoulder 12 Fret
This is a real pretty one. I love making pearl trimmed
guitars. It really makes the build a different
experience. The pearl I have been using on these
guitars is the best available.
This guitar is reminiscent of the late 1920's to mid
1930's Art Nouveau style, and it's a real head-turner.
The fingerboard and peghead will be bound in ivroid.
However, the fingerboard will remain a blank canvas
with side dots only - a look I am very fond of. It
draws the eye to the gorgeous floral fall peghead in
white mother of pearl. The bridge will also be inlaid
with white mother of pearl engraved stars. The top
will receive color from my varnish.
This Brazilian Rosewood beauty is a nice reflection of
the glorious past. Stay tuned to see the finished
instrument. And, as always, thanks for looking. |
